# Getting started

A wallet, Robinhood Chain, your first swap.

## 1. Get a wallet

TRNCH works with your own self-custodial wallet, such as MetaMask, Rabby or Rainbow, or any wallet that connects through WalletConnect. You keep your keys. TRNCH never sees them and never asks for your recovery phrase.

## 2. Fund it on Robinhood Chain

TRNCH runs on **Robinhood Chain** (chain ID 4663). You need a little **ETH** on Robinhood Chain to pay network fees (gas), and something to swap from: **ETH** or **USDG**, the dollar stablecoin used on TRNCH.

If your wallet has no USDG, the swap panel shows a link to a bridge.

You don't need to add the network by hand. Before each transaction, TRNCH asks your wallet to switch to Robinhood Chain, and to add it if it doesn't know it yet. If your wallet stays on another network, nothing is sent.

## 3. Connect

Click **Connect** at the top right and sign in with your wallet. Your wallet is what you trade with and what your packs are credited to. You can link your X account later, from your profile.

## 4. Make your first swap

1. Open **Trade**. The **Swap** view shows a single panel. Choose what you pay (ETH or USDG) and the token you receive.
2. Enter an amount, or tap a quick amount.
3. Open the line under the button. It shows the value you get against the market, what the route pays, the minimum it can pay at your maximum slippage, and which route was picked.
4. If the token needs an approval, TRNCH asks for the exact amount of this swap, never more. Then press **Swap** and sign in your wallet.

Your swap counts toward today's volume as soon as it is confirmed on-chain.

## 5. Earn packs

Your volume of the day earns card packs at each tier, starting at $100. Tiers reset every day at midnight UTC. Packs you have earned never expire. See [Packs and cards](/packs-and-cards.md).

## Key concepts

| Term                | Meaning                                                                                      |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Heat**            | TRNCH's live score for a new token: momentum, held back by trust. It is not a safety rating. |
| **All / New pools** | All shows new tokens. New pools shows fresh pools, including new pools of older tokens.      |
| **Race / Live**     | The ranked list of tokens, and the live feed of trades on the chain.                         |
| **USDG**            | The dollar stablecoin TRNCH uses for quick amounts and baskets.                              |
| **Slippage**        | How far the price may move against you before the swap fails instead of executing.           |
| **Pack**            | A sealed set of cards, earned with trading volume.                                           |
| **Card**            | A token with a rarity.                                                                       |
| **Captain**         | The one card of your hand that scores x1.5.                                                  |
| **Round**           | One UTC day of the game, ending with the draw at midnight UTC.                               |
