# Packs and cards

How trading volume turns into packs, what is in a pack, and what a card is.

|                                       | Status                     |
| ------------------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| Earning packs with your daily volume | Live |
| Opening packs, cards and fusion | Coming soon, with the game |
| Lifetime milestones and special packs | Coming soon |
| Minting cards as NFTs | Coming soon |

Cards come from trading, not from a shop. Your swaps make your volume of the day, packs are credited the second you cross a tier, and the next tier is always in sight. Tiers reset at 00:00 UTC. Nothing expires, and no pack is ever lost.

Packs stay **sealed until the game opens**.

## Earning packs

Your volume is the value of the swaps you make through TRNCH, buys and sells alike, counted per UTC day. It is read from each transaction once it is confirmed on-chain, not from what the screen expected. $500 in one swap or in ten gives the same result.

Packs are credited the moment you cross a tier of the day. The count is cumulative: at $500 of volume in a day you have 5 packs in total, not 3 + 5. The day's tiers start again at midnight UTC, and the packs you already earned stay yours.

| Volume of the day | Packs (total) |
| ----------------- | ------------- |
| $100              | 3             |
| $500              | 5             |
| $1,000            | 7             |
| $2,500            | 10            |
| $5,000            | 14            |
| $10,000           | 20            |
| $25,000           | 30            |
| $50,000           | 40            |
| $100,000          | 55            |

Packs do not depend on the game: with or without an entry, volume earns packs. The tiers may still change before the game opens.

## Lifetime milestones

Your total volume since you joined also counts. Each milestone pays once, and its status is permanent and visible to everyone: next to your name, on the boards and in the feed.

| Total volume | Reward, once                                          | Status                             |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------- |
| $10K         | 1 milestone pack + 4 standard                         | Trench badge                       |
| $50K         | 1 milestone pack + 14 standard                        | Silver name and card frame         |
| $100K        | 1 milestone pack + 29 standard                        | Gold name, gold frame, board title |
| $250K        | 1 milestone pack + 59 standard                        | Prism frame, title on every trade  |
| $1M          | 1 milestone pack + 149 standard + a unique Whale card | Animated gold name                 |

## What's in a pack

* A standard pack holds 1 to 5 cards. It is never empty.
* The odds of each rarity are fixed and the same for everyone.
* Half of a pack's cards are drawn from the tokens you traded that day, the other half from all eligible tokens. Trading a token is how you get its card. If you traded nothing that day, every card is drawn at random.
* When a pack opens, the rarest card comes last.

## Other packs

None of these can be bought.

* A milestone pack holds 5 cards, at least one of them rare. It comes with each lifetime milestone.
* A streak pack holds at least one rare. It rewards seven entries on seven days in a row.
* Every hand you play earns a gift pack when you lock it.
* A new account gets 5 cards of random rarity, enough for a first hand. Posting the pre-filled message from your linked X account (older than 30 days) earns a second free pack, with at least one uncommon.

## Cards

A card is a token with a rarity. It shows the token's logo, ticker and name, generated automatically from the token's own data and never drawn by hand. Cards are drawn from a list of eligible tokens, selected automatically on liquidity, holders, age and volume.

### Rarities

| Rarity    | Multiplier |
| --------- | ---------- |
| Common    | x1.00      |
| Uncommon  | x1.12      |
| Rare      | x1.20      |
| Legendary | x1.30      |

The multiplier cuts both ways. It amplifies gains and losses alike: a legendary at -10% costs you 1,300 points, where a common costs 1,000. A rare card is a bigger bet, not insurance. See [The game](/the-game.md).

### Fusion

Cards you don't play can be fused into a higher rarity. A fusion never fails.

| Fuse        | Into        | Cost (Season 0) |
| ----------- | ----------- | --------------- |
| 10 commons  | 1 uncommon  | $5              |
| 5 uncommons | 1 rare      | $20             |
| 3 rares     | 1 legendary | $50             |

These are Season 0 figures, confirmed in the rules published before fusion opens.

### Minting

Cards will be mintable as NFTs for free, and what you stack and fuse today will count. Minting will be governed by terms published before it opens.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Packs and cards have **no monetary value**. They cannot be exchanged for money through TRNCH, and nothing guarantees what a pack will contain. See the [Terms of Use](/legal/terms.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.trnch.fun/packs-and-cards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
